About Us

Our Mission

“Reflecting God’s love in every day life.”

Our mission statement is birthed out of the distinctiveness of our theology, as well as a deep passion for our community. The twin goals of personal holiness and social righteousness flow out of a belief that people truly can become more like Christ and communities can better reflect the kingdom of God. Personal transformation inside of us ought to then spill over into our neighborhoods, our schools, and our places of work creating a social transformation.

Our Core Values

Deeply caring for others is not simply the nice way to live. God mandates that we love one another, and do so selflessly. Our goal is for every single person who walks through our doors to know that God loves them for who they are and not what they have done. Secondly, our prayer is that others know and feel the love that we have for them. We love because God first loved us.

Feeling included is the first step to actually being included. Whatever your past, present, or future, we want you to know that Horizons is a place where you can, and should, belong.

Growth is a process. We do not excel in life overnight, and the same is true for our spiritual lives. God longs for us to become more like Him as we spend more time with Him, and in His Word, and with His people. May you become all that God desires for you to become.

Life is not complete without giving back. To be healthy, we must give more than we take. Once you know you are loved, belong to a body of believers, and become more like Christ, the natural result is service. When we truly realize how blessed we are, we can do nothing else but serve others as Christ served us.

Our History

Horizons Church began with a handful of families that desired to reach The Colony, TX. Eventually, a launch team of 35 people was formed and our grand opening service was held on February 5th, 2006, at a local elementary school. Since that time we have moved from Morningside Elementary to Griffin Middle School to BB Owen and The Colony Recreation Center. We now meet at our permanent facility at 6600 Paige Road (Cross street is Kisor). Horizons Church is a daughter church of Collin Creek Community Church in Plano, TX. We praise God as He continues to compel each of us to reach this community for Christ.

Our Worship

On Sunday mornings we have one service at 10:30am. Our worship is primarily contemporary, but we frequently play hymns and choruses that reflect the deeper history of the Church.

Our services are casual and comfortable. Our teaching is rooted in Scripture and applicable to everyday life. We are striving to create a family of people that understand and accept one another regardless of economical, racial, generational or musical differences. Above all, we want to glorify God and stay focused on his mission. Services typically last anywhere from 75-90 minutes.

Horizons Church is an evangelical ministry affiliated with The Wesleyan Church and committed to following the way of Jesus Christ. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds and walks of life and our mission and vision are rooted in a desire to further God’s kingdom.

Our Beliefs

“We believe in one God who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit and the Savior of all men and women who put their faith in Him alone for eternal life. We believe that those who receive new life in Christ are called to be holy in character and conduct and can only live this way by being filled with the Lord’s Spirit. We believe in the Bible and seek to establish our faith and actions on its teachings. We believe God wills for people everywhere to know Him and that the purpose of the church is to tell the world about Christ through its worship, witness and loving deeds.” For a more detailed look at the beliefs of The Wesleyan Church go to www.wesleyan.org.
