We are a multicultural church where men and women of ethnic and economic diversity seek to:
Walk, work, and worship God together as one to advance a credible witness of God’s love for all people.
Renew, reconcile and redeem broken relationships, both individual and collective.
Establish equitable systems of leadership, authority, governance and oversight within our church and community.
Champion justice, mercy and compassion in our community.
We want to raise up a generation of leaders who have integrity of heart and skillful hands. From King David in Psalm 72
Our Core Values
Energize Families –
There is great power when we combine two influences: family and the church. Each has a place but must work together for the greatest impact. We work to empower parents with tools to equip their family with faith, and we challenge kids and parents to build their relationship with one another and God. This will mobilize the next generation of faith!
Engage In Community –
God never intended for His followers to walk alone. Jesus spent one-on-one time with His Father, sent the disciples out in pairs, and equipped them in groups. There is great strength when we live, work and worship together in a faith community as we seek to follow Christ. Therefore, we gather in small, medium, and large groups for fun, faith and fellowship.
Enhance Influence –
From the very beginning, we see that God’s heart is for everyone to know His love, grace, and truth. Because of this, we learn about God through His Holy Scriptures, live a life obedient to His instructions, and purposefully lead others in this process. Then we send out these coaches to multiply this with others.
Horizons Church began with a handful of families that desired to reach The Colony, TX. Eventually, a launch team of 35 people was formed and our grand opening service was held on February 5th, 2006, at a local elementary school. Since that time we have moved from Morningside Elementary to Griffin Middle School to BB Owen and The Colony Recreation Center. We now meet at our permanent facility at 6600 Paige Road (Cross street is Kisor). Horizons Church is a daughter church of Collin Creek Community Church in Plano, TX. We praise God as He continues to compel each of us to reach this community for Christ.
On Sunday mornings we have one service at 10:30am. Our worship is primarily contemporary, but we frequently play hymns and choruses that reflect the deeper history of the Church.
Our services are casual and comfortable. Our teaching is rooted in Scripture and applicable to everyday life. We are striving to create a family of people that understand and accept one another regardless of economical, racial, generational or musical differences. Above all, we want to glorify God and stay focused on his mission. Services typically last anywhere from 75-90 minutes.
Horizons Church is an evangelical ministry affiliated with The Wesleyan Church and committed to following the way of Jesus Christ. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds and walks of life and our mission and vision are rooted in a desire to further God’s kingdom.
“We believe in one God who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit and the Savior of all men and women who put their faith in Him alone for eternal life. We believe that those who receive new life in Christ are called to be holy in character and conduct and can only live this way by being filled with the Lord’s Spirit. We believe in the Bible and seek to establish our faith and actions on its teachings. We believe God wills for people everywhere to know Him and that the purpose of the church is to tell the world about Christ through its worship, witness and loving deeds.” For a more detailed look at the beliefs of The Wesleyan Church go to www.wesleyan.org.
